—Jusolyn Flower —
Journalist.
Driven toward helping people and telling their stories.
Passionate about building connections and fostering those relationships.
Jusolyn graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida Gulf Coast University in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Journalism.
Her passion for journalism stems from her passion for people.
Meeting people. Listening to people.
Talking to people. Knowing people.
That’s really what life is all about.
She aims to utilize effective communication skills to develop meaningful relationships and dive deep with people to share their stories.
With her heart set on becoming an investigative reporter, Jusolyn covers topics ranging from breaking news to crime to community events and human interest stories.
Although born and raised in Southwest Florida, in the summer of 2024, Jusolyn decided to make the nearly 1,500-mile trek to Providence, RI, and join the 12 News team at WPRI as its newest Digital Content Producer.
Prior to her cross-country move from the Sunshine State to the Ocean State, Jusolyn worked as a Digital Content Producer at WBBH-WZVN in Fort Myers, Florida, while simultaneously earning her degree at FGCU. She also interned for the WBBH-WZVN news department in the summer of 2023.
During her time at FGCU, Jusolyn served on the Eagle Media team, the university’s only student-run broadcast organization, as a Staff Writer and Eagle News Television anchor.
If not in the field or the newsroom, you can probably find Jusolyn doing one or more of the following:
Spending time at the beach (Floridian confirmed)
Hanging out with friends
Taking far too many photos (film, iPhone, digital — you name it)
At the gym or on a walk
Drinking some form of caffeine (most likely coffee)
Listening to music
Overall, she loves meeting new people, seeing new places, and trying new things.
